FAQ
✨ Who can apply?
- Women from Latin America between 18 and 25 years old
- With basic English or a willingness to improve
- With a genuine interest in children and cultural exchange
- Open to living with a host family for 12 months
✨ How long does the program last?
- The au pair stay usually lasts 12 months.
✨ Where will I travel to?
- We work with certified agencies in the Netherlands.
- Host families are located in different regions of the country, both in cities and smaller towns.
✨ Do I need to speak Dutch?
- No. It's not required.
Most families communicate in basic English.
You can learn Dutch during your experience if you wish.
✨ What will I receive as an au pair?
- A monthly pocket money of €340 and two weeks of paid vacation
- Accommodation (a private room) and meals
- Health insurance provided during your stay
- Support from the agency while you're in the Netherlands
- A personalized preparation process with Bon Voyage Agency before you travel
✨ What do I need to apply?
- A completed application form (we'll help you fill it out)
- Motivation letter + personal photos
- Experience with children (e.g., siblings, volunteering, babysitting)
- Valid passport
✨ Do I need a driver's license to be an au pair?
- In the Netherlands, having a driver's license is not required, as most families and people get around by bike.
However, knowing how to drive can be a plus — especially if the host family lives in a rural area or if you occasionally need to transport the children by car.
It all depends on the specific needs of the host family.
